Brian joined Centipede on Dec 27th at the Mercury Lounge in NYC, playing with Steve Ovendon, David Strahl, Tom Burnett, Eddy Martinez, André Martinez, Doug Principato, Jason Candler, Francois Grillot, Mark Hennen and Elliott Levin.

Brian performed for a tribute to composer/guitarist/educator Dennis Sandole on Nov 30, 2010 at Roulette in SOHO. Also appearing were Ian Ash, Rob Brown, Bruce Eisenbeil, David First, Denise Sandole, Matthew Shipp, Dylan Taylor and Bobby Zankel.

… Filling in for the great Frank London, Brian played with the Ayn Sof Arkestra & Bigger Band on Nov 29, 2010, at the Sixth Street Community Synagogue in New York. The Arkestra consists of some of the most innovative artists on the scene today – Pam Fleming, Paul Shapiro, Aaron Alexander, Fima Ephron, Eyal Maoz, the Jazz Rabbi Greg Wall and many others.

Brian played at The Old Can Factory, Brooklyn on Oct. 27, 2010, with Michael Evan’s Swirling Lotus Blossom Bandits. The band consists of : Michael Evans and Lorne Watson on drums and percussion, Adam Lane on upright bass, Evan Gallagher on keyboards and arrangements, Jeff Hudgins and Charles Waters on saxophones, Peter Zummo on trombone and Brian Groder on trumpet and/or flugelhorn.

… October 2010 found Brian playing in Gaeta and Rome, Italy, for the first international aspect of Jazz On Edge.

Brian Groder played on Sept 26, 2010, at Andrea Clearfield’s Salon, Philadelphia, with pianist Tonino Miano.

Brian brought modern-progressive jazz to Brooklyn on Sept 24,2010 when he played with Earth People at the Underwater Lounge for the DUMBO Arts Festival. The band included André Martinez, Doug Principato, Jason Candler, Francois Grillot, Mark Hennen, Sabir Mateen, Elliott Levin, Brian Groder, Albey Balgochian and Dave Ross.

… Sept 19, 2010, Brian played with Bassentric’s Big Bang at the Bowery Poetry Club, NYC, at 2PM. The lineup includes Brian on trumpet; Shoshke-Razyl, guitarscapes; Gerard Faroux, drums; Ken Filiano, bass; Francois Grillot, Bass; Albey Balgochian, bass/conductor; Yuko Otomo, poetry; Paul Harding, poetry; Jane Grenier B, poetry. The show was webcast live.

Brian performed in Mexico City at the Zinco Jazz Club on Friday, August 20 and at the Zacatecas Festival Internacional De Jazz Y Blues in Mexico on Saturday, August 21, 2010, as part of Lisle Ellis’ Four Stories Tall project, featuring Ellis, Kirk Knuffke and Nassif Salim Zakkak.

Brian Groder appeared at The Stone on July 27, 2010 in NYC with Lisle Ellis’s Four Stories Tall — Lisle Ellis (bass) Brian Groder (flugelhorn) Kirk Knuffke (cornet) Nazo Zakkak (piano), playing new work from the improvising bassist/composer. Show starts at 10pm.

… May 14th 8 pm, Tonino Miano & Brian Groder continued their piano-trumpet exploration of modern classical musical forms interpreted through their contemporary improvisational techniques at Douglass St. Music Collective, Brooklyn.
